Tea Time & Books...

30th October 2019

FabFitFun Fall Box 2019 Review.

This is the second FabFitFun box I’ve recieved and I got just as excited this time! I loved the choices for customisation in this box. So lets jump into the things I chose!

The first, and obvious choice was this Anthropologie Travel Yoga Mat ($50). I’ve been meaning to get back into my yoga for a while now, so getting a new mat gives me the perfect reason to jump back on the band wagon. I love the colours and pattern, I think it’s very cute! It’s crazy because a few days before customisation opened, I talked about how I needed something new to put my lunch in, and low and behold there was a Kate Spade Lunch Tote ($30) on offer. I love Kate Spade and think she has some amazing designs, however I could never justify the price tag on some of her items. I love the pattern and I think the ‘Out To Lunch’ quote is adorable, I’ve already started using this and have had lots of compliments on how cute it is. The last thing I picked was The Better Skin Co. Lava Mask ($32). This is a brand and product I haven’t heard of before, but I loved the idea that it’s a multi-purpose product. I’ve already used it as a scrub and I really really liked it, it wasn’t too rough or abrasive and smelt amazing too!

I also recieved the Afterspa Hair Towel Wrap ($18), and I haven’t used a hair towel in year. I think I might start using this though, I’ve been trying to use the smallest amount of heat on my hair the last few months and this means that I can stop drying my hair with heat! A welcome surprise was the Wander Beauty Baggage Clim Gold Eye Mask 6 Pack ($25), because we all know that I love any kind of mask. I really liked this, I normally don’t like products that feel a little gloopy with product, which this does initially. But it actually sinks in really nicely. I really liked these and I think I will save these to use before nights outs and events.

These are the items that appear in everyone’s box. I’m excited to try the Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair ($30) because I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I’m usually quite particular about the products I put on my hair, but I will definitely be giving this one a go! I loved the look of these Harper + Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes in Juice Cleanse ($16), they’re so cute and honestly smell amazing! I used these the other day, and I found they were very harsh on my skin, almost felt like I was slicing my skin off. Having said that I did find that my skin was much softer where I used it and it seemed to stay soft for a while. I would use again, but I wouldn’t regularly! Lastly in my box was the Human + Kind Body Souffle ($18) which I loved. I struggle with moisturisers, because I don’t typically like anything too fragranced, or anything that will leave my skin sticky. This was lovely to use, it was just thick enough that it sunk into the skin beautifully, but not so thick that it just left the skin tacky. It had a really faint smell, but I didn’t really mind it. This has very quickly become a staple in my shower routine and I’ve been using this almost every day!!

I was quite impressed with this box, did I love it as much as my last one, I don’t think so. But there were definitely some standout items that I’ve already starting using regularly so you can’t say it isn’t a practical box, which I think can be an issue with boxes like this sometimes. I’m usually so overwhelmed with the products in the box I don’t know where to start and then I end up not using some of the products. I love that this box is so vaired and you get a range of beauty, skincare and lifestyle things. I’m excited to start customising my next box!

Did you get the fall box? What did you pick to have inside? Let me know in the comments below!

I always get sucked into the 99p deals, I'm a sucker for a deal! However, is it a deal when you have hundreds of books on your kindle already that you haven't read yet? 🤣 This month I picked up:

✨️ The Enigma of Room 622
✨️ Happy Place
✨️ The Wolf and the Woodsman
✨️ Notes on Heartbreak
✨️ Her Majesty's Royal Coven
✨️ Merideth Alone

Have you picked any of these up? Read any? Let me know! ☺️

Have I been telling absolutely everyone who would lend me an ear about how absolutely fantastic this new musical is? Yes, yes I have! I booked this back in November on a complete whim! Mostly because in the email I got, it was described as "part Mel Brooks, part Six, part Hamilton with a side order of One Man, Two Guvnors", and if that doesn't hook you I don't know what will! Other than the brief synopsis in the email, I went in blind, knowing nothing about the show, the music or the actors but man do I want to shout about them now.

Firstly, the Fortune Theatre felt like the perfect kind of venue for a show like this, surprisingly intimate and like you were actually involved in the action. From the very first song, I was hooked, I knew that I was in for a good one! The actors were all absolutely phenomenal, each one with comical timing that was absolutely on the money along with some fantastic pipes that were definitely easy on the ears. I laughed, I teared up, I didn't want it to end, everything from the music to the staging was absolute perfection if you ask me. @spitlip aren't a group I'd heard of before, but certainly won't be one I forget fast. I will absolutely without a single doubt be going to see this again before it closes, and only pray that it actually sticks around. Potentially the best new musical I've seen in a very, very long time! Go get your tickets now, old chap! ✌️
