Who doesn’t love a good gin?! I’m super hyped for the gin advent calenders this year – and some are already appearing on shop shelves!!
I’m a big gin lover, especially flavoured gins. My entry into gins was actually last December when I bought the Sainsburys gin advent calendar when it had been reduced. I really loved the selection and it introduced me to some brands I’d never heard of before. I love that with advent calenders you get such a different array of brands and flavours. So these are the Gin advent calendars I think are worth grabbing this year!
Edinburgh Gin Advent Calendar – £120
I think EG may be one of my favourite gin makers, I’ve yet to try one of their gins that I haven’t liked. In this calendar, you’ll get 25 mini 5cl bottles in an abundance of flavours, including their classic gin, rhubarb and ginger (my favourite) and plum and vanilla, which I haven’t tried but sounds lush! You’ll also find that behind each door the chance to win 1 of 50 prizes ranging form a weekend for two in Edinburgh, a year’s supply of Edinburgh Gin or vouchers.
Costco Gin Advent Calendar – £59.89
With this calendar, you’ll get a new gin every day, right up to Christmas. That’s right, 24 5cl bottles from a variety of brands and flavours. You’ll get to try the J. J Whitley Pink Cherry gin, which sounds amazing, as well as some flavours from Sipsmith and even a Peaky Blinders Spiced dry gin! I think this one is pretty good value, especially when you’re getting gin from 16 different distributors. Obviously, you’ll only be able to grab this if you’re a Costco member, but if you’re not, find someone who is and ask them to pick you one up!
B&M 12 Gin & Tonics Advent Calendar – £34.99
This is definitely a bargain compared to the rest on this list, but the only thing that puts me off is that it only has twelve doors. Plus you get tonic which I’m not a fan of (I drink my gin with lemonade), which means I’d have 12 bottles of tonic I wouldn’t use. But for those that like tonic, and want a cheaper option this definitely might be the best option!
M&S Gins of Christmas Advent Calendar – £100
This calendar is a mix between Edinburgh Gin and M&S’s own gin range. You’ll still get 24 mini bottles of gin, the only downside is that you will get duplicates. This isn’t a problem if you like it, but tough luck if you don’t like the M&S Slow Gin, because you’ll find four bottles of that in this calendar. Despite that, I think you still get a mixed bag of flavours including an EG apple and spice gin liqueur and an M&S Clementine flavoured gin.
The Pip Stio Gin Advent Calendar – £124.99
I absolutely love that this is shaped like a cracker! I just think it makes it even more festive and I am all for that. This is another calendar where you’ll find a variety of flavours and distributors, and you’ll still get 24 bottles, although for some reason one is 4cl while the rest are 5cl. This selection seems to have more of the classic gin, than loads of different flavours, but there are some distributors I’ve never heard of and would be interested to try, like The Lakes Gin Explorer Edition and Ophir Oriental Spiced London Dry Gin.
Halewood Wine & Spirits 12 Gins of Christmas Advent Calendar
If you’re after a cheaper calendar, but that’s only full of gin, this might be the one for you! You’ll get 12 5cl bottles, mostly flavours from Whitley Neill! Including Rhubarb and Ginger gin (another of my favourites, you’ll see a theme here) and the Blood Orange one which I hear is lovely!
